Mayoral candidate receives endorsement from Middlesex County, New Jersey Chapter of Our Revolution
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Charlie Kratovil, the independent New Brunswick Mayoral candidate, has secured the endorsement of the Middlesex County NJ Chapter of Our Revolution, the progressive political organization launched by US Senator Bernie Sanders.
“Our Revolution Middlesex NJ organizes locally to prioritize people over profits.” said Rano Banerjee, Chair of Our Revolution Middlesex County. “A healthy democracy not only has voters cast their ballots, it also provides a choice in candidates and the opportunity for people to run for office. Charlie has been an example of someone stepping up to run for local office as an important part of our democratic process.”
“I’m so grateful for the support of Our Revolution Middlesex County,” said Kratovil, the only independent candidate for Mayor. “I look forward to continuing to work with them to advance progressive policies like protecting our environment and making our city more affordable for working families.”
Our Revolution Middlesex County has vocally supported Medicare for All and a Green New Deal, but they’ve also gotten involved in local issues, such as opposing the sale and closure of the Lincoln Annex School in New Brunswick and the plans for a dirty gas power plant in Woodbridge.
Our Revolution is committed to guaranteeing all people the basic necessities of life — and guaranteeing those rights regardless of Americans’ income, race, religion, gender, country of origin, or sexual orientation.
Kratovil has been an activist and journalist in New Brunswick for over a decade, and has been a defender of local democracy, fighting for and winning the establishment of school board elections in 2012, beating back efforts to close down voting locations in recent years, and opposing the decision to cancel the June 2021 Middlesex County Democratic Committee elections.
