Translator (Spanish-English)

A campaign translator has an integral role of connecting communities across a language barrier and ensuring that New Brunswick residents of all backgrounds can engage with the campaign. Interns will gain real-world experience translating for residents with a diverse range of backgrounds in dynamic settings such as speeches, group meetings, and spontaneous interactions with the public. Interns will put their language skills to the test covering topics such as: politics, quality of life, crime, public health, and environmental issues. Interns will have an opportunity to work with Latinx campaign leaders and volunteers who can provide insights on dialectical distinctions that will be helpful when translating for different audiences.
